Just to let you all know we are about to launch the fully adapted Windrider 17 AD.
Thanks to John and Ray up at Rutland Sailability, who have helped us enormously, Windrider UK have decided to launch a fully adapted version of the Windrider 17 which is being used by many sailability groups already.
Customers can either buy a new boat or buy an aftermarket upgrade kit.
The new boat will have the following extra features to help those with less mobility:
Geared joystick steering in the front cockpit and rear if required
Jib and Mainsheets to both cockpits
Easily removable trampolines so chairs can be bought right up to the hull for loading
Extra handles for gripping and also to assist in access
Hard Trampoline seating so 4 people can sail together in comfort
The footpedal steering will still be operational from the rear cockpit and , from Rutland's experience, this is where the helper would sit and still be able to take control if necessary.
We are undertaking a UK tour this year so if you would like us to visit your region with a boat, its free and no obligation.
